Burning Hearts Community Outreach
Rev Keith Barksdale, Pastor of Valley Hill Baptist Church in Riverdale Georgia, saw a need in the local community for services and programs to uplift and empower individuals, children and families who were typically overlooked or marginalized because of their social economic status.
God placed a burning desire in him to address the issues that he witnessed in the local communities and to fill the gaps that were left by government and nonprofit entities. As a community leader and pastor, he saw the lack of coordination, cooperation and collaboration within community non-profits and government agencies to address those unfilled gaps and decided to start a coordinated effort called the Clayton Community Resource Network that meets monthly to leverage resources, share information and data.
Vision
Rev. Barksdale's vision is to extend Christ's love and compassion through organizations by partnering, collaborating and leveraging resources within the Clayton County communities to help individuals, and families become self-sufficient and to build strong families that will be a viable part of the Clayton community.
Under the umbrella of Burning Hearts Community Outreach is the Clayton County Coalition and the Clayton Community Resource Network.
